Terms of service

Acceptance
By creating an account or using Kaien in any way, you agree to these terms. They form a binding agreement between you and the person running Kaien (a solo founder based in Pune, India). If you don't agree, please don't use the product.
These terms apply to both the free and paid plans. Using Kaien on behalf of a company or organisation means you're agreeing on their behalf too.
Account creation
You sign in with your Google account. By doing so, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you're authorised to use that Google account. You must be 18 or older to use Kaien.
You're responsible for keeping your account secure. That means using a strong password on your Google account and enabling two-factor authentication. If you suspect your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at founder@getkaien.com.
Acceptable use
Kaien is for scheduling meetings. Use it for that. Don't use it for spam, harassment, fraud, or any illegal activity. Don't use it to send unsolicited bulk messages to people who haven't asked to hear from you.
Don't attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or break the product. Don't use it in ways that could harm others or violate their rights. Don't try to access other users' data.
We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, without notice if the violation is serious. We'd rather not — but we will if we have to.
Payment
The Quiet plan is free. The Considered plan is ₹199/month, billed via Razorpay (UPI, card, netbanking). All prices are in Indian Rupees (INR) and inclusive of applicable taxes. GST-compliant invoices are available in your billing settings.
Subscriptions auto-renew monthly until you cancel. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.
Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel any time from your account settings. Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep full access until then.
If you cancel within seven days of your first paid month, email us at founder@getkaien.com and we'll refund you in full. After that window, the next renewal stops but the current month isn't refunded.
Service availability
We aim for high availability and take uptime seriously. That said, we don't guarantee 100% uptime. We may schedule maintenance windows; we'll try to do these at low-traffic times and notify you in advance for anything significant.
We're not liable for losses caused by outages, downtime, or failures in third-party services we depend on — including Google Calendar, payment processors, and email providers. These are outside our control.
Your data, your content
You own the data you put into Kaien — your bookings, your event types, your customers' information. We have a limited licence to use it only as needed to run the product for you. We don't claim any rights to your content beyond that.
When you delete your account, we delete your data. See the Privacy Policy for details on retention timelines.
Intellectual property
Kaien — the brand, code, design, and content — is owned by us. You may not copy, modify, or distribute it without permission. You may use the kaien.app/yourname URL we assign you publicly, including on your website, email signature, or social profiles.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
Kaien is provided “as is.” To the extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of Kaien is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim — or ₹0 if you're on the free plan. We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits or data.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of Pune, Maharashtra. If you're outside India, you agree to submit to that jurisdiction.
Changes to terms
We can update these terms. For material changes — ones that meaningfully affect your rights or obligations — we'll notify you by email before they take effect. Continued use of Kaien after changes means you accept the updated terms. The “Last updated” date at the top will always be current.
